Dr. Harumi Kuno-Sakai, a co-founder of this online medical journal, passes away on July 17, 2022.

Dr. Harumi Kuno-Sakai, M.D., a co-founder of the International Journal of Geriatrics and Rehabilitation and former professor of pediatrics and public health at Tokai University’s School of Medicine, passed away on July 17, her family said. She was 82.

The publication of new issues of the International Journal of Geriatrics and Rehabilitation will be continued in accordance with the will of the female academic, who has constantly expressed her wish to help contribute to the mankind, especially to the protection of the health and lives of teenage girls,  through the publication of high-quality academic papers on the adverse reactions of humanpapilloma virus (HPV) vaccines and some other types of vaccines which either contain viral DNA or RNA, either fragmentally  or in their codon sequence entirety, at this online medical journal.

Dr. Harumi Kuno-Sakai, who also worked as the chief of the radioimmunoassay research team at the University of Texas’ Medical Branch in Galveston in the 1970s before becoming a Tokai University professor,  was a very warm-hearted doctor who helped numerous suffering people throughout her life, especially teenage girls who have been victimized severely or even fatally by the injections of HPV vaccines.  Dr. Kuno-Sakai was widely referred to as “Dr. Sakai” in international academic and medical publications circles.  She also worked as the executive editor-in-chief of the medical magazine, the Clinical Virology, for a few decades.

On February 26, 2014 , Dr. Sakai appeared at both a Japanese parliamentary hearing  and another hearing hosted by the Japanese government’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), providing her precious and courageous testimony about the severe adverse effects of HPV vaccines on the basis of her careful observations and analysis of more than 1,700 cases of teenage girls victimized by HPV vaccines and encouraging legislators of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s Policy Deliberations Committee at the House of Councillors, the upper chamber of Japan’s bicameral Diet (Parliament) to scrap and discontinue the mandatory HPV vaccination policy.

The previous day — February 25, 2014 —  Dr. Sakai presided over an international symposium in Tokyo’s Kasumigaseki Building  about the serious adverse effects of the HPV vaccines and their causes because she was alerted at her findings on the seriousness and the high manifestation frequency of the adverse effects induced by HPV vaccines based on her analysis of MHLW-compiled official data on 1,708 cases of teenage girls whose health were damaged either seriously or mildly following  the injections of HPV vaccines.

All of these 1,708 cases had been dismissed as consequences of “psycho-somatic reactions” by fifteen medical experts  of a panel advising the MHLW. But many of these experts at the government’s advisory committee have been since reported by the mass media as being recipients of various forms of lucrative financial favors paid by HPV vaccine manufacturers under various pretexts seeking to justify those payments.

The HPV vaccination policy had been imposed and enforced on April 1, 2013, by the Japanese government as an effectively obligation  on the basis of what the government and its health bureaucracy called an “active recommendation policy,” under which the government strongly recommended that teenage girls be injected with HPV vaccines — either Cervarix or Gardasil — with local government’s health bureaucrats actively  contacting all households with teenage girls with mails.

At the  nationally televised symposium, Dr. Sakai, Dr. Sin Hang Lee, M.D., former associate professor of Yale University and incumbent director of Milford Molecular Diagnostics,  Professor Francois-Jerome Authier M.D. of Paris University XII (the Sorbonne), Dr. Mirna Hajaar M.D.,  a former Connecticut University researcher and the then a doctor at the Department of Neurology at Hartford Hospital, Connecticut, Dr. Lucija Tomljenovic, the then research associate at the British Columbia University of Canada, Dr. Rokuro Hama, M.D., director of the Japan Institute of Pharmacovigilance, explained either the adverse effects of the HPV vaccines or their causes to Japanese journalists from major news organizations, doctors, politicians and medical researchers who gathered at the venue, so that the Japanese government may abolish and discontinue the effective injection obligation of the HPV vaccination.

Shortly after the symposium and a MHLW-hosted hearing, the administration of then then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe decided to scrap the injection obligation of HPV vaccines in view of an official decision made by the Policy Deliberations Committee of LDP legislators at the Diet’s upper chamber.  The legislators had been deeply moved by both the testimonies of Dr. Sakai, Dr. Lee, Dr. Authier, Dr. Hajaar  and other international medical experts and by a parliamentary testimony at the committee by Miss Yui Ito, a teenage violinist in a wheelchair whose health was so seriously devastated by three shots of the Cervarix as to come to require using the wheelchair.

Dr. Sakai used to say that it is immoral and outrageous that large pharmaceutical manufacturers have influenced the policy-formation process of the Japanese government, the political community and the Diet on the basis of the distribution of financial favors amidst their excessive pursuit of economic interests, so that the Japanese parliament may legislate the injection obligation.

The symposium organized by the academic and the testimonies by Dr. Sakai and other conscientious academics at both the House of Councillors hearing and the MHLW-hosted hearing turned around the mandatory HPV injection policy, forcing a stoppage to the HPV vaccine active recommendation policy for the subsequent eight years until the government revised the policy on April 1, 2022.

Dr. Harumi Kuno-Sakai contributed an insightful word of recommendation to the back cover of Dr. Sin Hang Lee’s book, “From Pap Smear to HPV Vaccine — The Cervical Cancer Prevention Industry, ”  published in 2020 by Nova Science Publishers Inc. based in New York.

In it, Dr. Sakai said, “I recommend this book wholeheartedly. This book should be studied by all university medical professors and students across the world as a sort of the most authoritative “Bible” in the HPV vaccine-associated adverse reaction field because its author, backed by his deep knowledge of molecular biology and vital functions of codons and consequences in its translation and transcription, elucidates reasons and causes of ultra-wide ranging types of adverse reactions that show up at recipients of HPV vaccines. The adverse reactions of HPV vaccines sometimes manifest themselves as extremely serious and painful side-effects affecting recipient girls’ and young women’s central nerve system to the point of devastating and crippling such recipient girls. Some of such girls ended up committing suicide in my country and in other countries amidst their intense sufferings resulting from HPV vaccine injections and their consequences at their brains and other key portions of the central nerve system.”

The news of the death of Dr. Harumi Sakai at 3:52 p.m. was communicated to the International Journal of Geriatrics and Rehabilitation by her husband Dr. Hideto Sakai, M.D., who was a classmate of Dr. Harumi Kuno-Sakai at Keio University’s School of Medicine and who was later appointed as the deputy director of Keio University Hospital.

Dr. Lee said in an email sent on July 20  to the editor-in-chief of this online journal, “I am shocked to receive this saddening bad news about the sudden unexpected passing of Professor Harumi Sakai…Please let Dr. Hideto Sakai know that I share his grief in losing a great friend. I also thank her and her husband for their courage in publishing my first paper on SARS-CoV-2 testing. Now, if you google-search Sanger-sequencing diagnostics for SARS-CoV-2, the paper is the most quoted one for Sanger sequencing test as first proposed by the Japanese virologists. Unfortunately, the industry does not want to do the right thing…Myocardinal damage after Gardasil and after mRNA COVID vaccination will cause unnecessary deaths among some people, especially in the young physically active age group. Unfortunately, the governments of the entire world are ignoring the danger…”
